After completing an MBA with a Distinction average in 2008, Martin was contracted as a part-time lecturer with the Sydney Business School (University of Wollongong) and Australian Institute of Business (AIB) where he facilitated subjects in retail management, retail marketing, new venture creation, globalisation, strategic marketing and entrepreneurship for Masters level (MBA) students in Australia.
Over a period of 7 years, AIB students consistently rated his facilitation methods with satisfaction scores of more than 97%.
Martin has spoken at over 1,000 public events in recent years on topics as diverse as leadership, smart city technologies, climate change, infrastructure, transport, governance, history, heritage and economic development. In December 2015, Martin delivered an address to the United Nations Climate Change Conference in Paris COP21 in December 2015 and the World Cities Summit in Singapore in July 2018.
Martin reads widely on topics such as world history, politics, personal biographies, behavioural psychology, disruptive technologies, the natural environment and design. He is a strong advocate for life-long learning.
